RHOMBUS TECHNICAL SERVICES:
Secretive outsiders with a strong (arguably cultish) transhumanist bent. Respected outsider among corps (sided with the Exile States in the Rim War and permits unionization). Many unusual specialty groups (anti-submarine warfare, hostage negotiations, xenoarchaeology, etc.) and a tendency to avoid bad optics. Does not respect informal mercenary codes of conduct; always goes for the brainkill. May deal with existential threats for free or at cost and probably takes very dangerous stuff back for study. Back office employees and services personnel don't interact with general public; reside in Rhombus-controlled orbital habitats and stations (tend not to recall their time with Rhombus if they quit and often leave with first-rate sleeves and chrome included in their severance package).
VICTORIA SECURITY SERVICES:
VSS specializes in securities fraud investigations, detective work, assassination (secretly), and industrial espionage. Stylish, urbane, and paranoid. Disliked by anyone who can't afford to hire them and despised by the general public for their union-busting. Low-level state of undeclared corporate war with many other large security corps. Also provides more mundane services and can rent out entire police departments, compliance divisions, etc. Never does VIP protection work because it would create unacceptable conflicts of interest. VSS detectives do genuinely good work and their rent-a-cops are unusually professional and honest. A colony could do far worse for its corporate police force.
PANSEC:
Will do anything for anyone and charge them by the minute. Reputation for unsubtle brutality is entirely deserved (but PANSEC does respect mercenary codes of conduct and will ransom the brains of their corporate enemies). Very large; one of the only corps that could carry out a large-scale planetary invasion or high-orbit blockade. Struggles to attract special-operations-equivalent talent but their grunts are among the finest available (with a price tag to match). One of a very-few publicly-traded elite security companies; always seek to maximize shareholder value. Favorite targets are other smaller security companies.
HAROUN, GREENE & SINGH:
VIP protection and counterintelligence is all HGS does and they usually do it very well. Unobtrusive and precise. Currently in a state of crisis; Lucia Haroun is currently missing after a major raid on HGS' headquarters. Android infiltrators are suspected and the prospect that HGS' black book is presently in the hands of MONARCH is a truly chilling thought. Their insurers are livid.
WITTENBERG:
Insurance adjusters with guns. Not popular with most large corps (insurance companies and lawyers never are) but on friendly terms with other security companies (who are neither competitors nor clients) and the general public. Also do shipping protection, courier work, natural disaster relief, etc. Rents fire departments, search-and-rescue units, and park rangers. A tendency to cross-train their pencil-pushers in combat or other field skills earns them the tremendous respect of many corporate grunts; usually babysitting somebody else's office drones is a drag.
